several months ago, i was tagged in a facebook note titled “25 songs I can’t live without.” since then (28 feb 2010) i’ve thought about what my list would look like every single day. at first, i thought of it in superlative terms, but immediately realized it would be impossible to pick only 25 favorite songs. so the memo titled “25” on my phone became an evolving list of song names that for whatever reason seemed to me to be some of the most important in my life.

will that list ever be final? no, but i’m ready to share. so every day this Ramadan, i’ll post one of my 25 songs — in no particular order. for the last five days, i’ll probably switch to listing five artists i can’t live without…

ultimately this is about sharing music, so i hope you find something new and enjoyable in at least one of my 25.
